2014 - Celebrating 85 years of exceptional service to our clients, our communities, and our employees. Williams & Company employees and their families joined for a weekend of fun, teambuilding, and celebration. The event started at the Yogi Bear Campground in Sioux Falls. Yogi staff led us in fun challenges like finding the gummy worms in the whipped cream with no hands, piling shaving cream on someone’s head and trying to get the most Cheetos stuck in it, relay games, and other silliness. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and the Yogi staff took everyone on tractor rides and opened the jumping pavilion. Everyone made their way to the Ramada in Sioux Falls where the kids enjoyed an evening of babysitters, clowns, pizza, movies, and of course swimming. The adults enjoyed a fun evening with Dueling Pianos, guessing the baby pictures, and visiting with staff and spouses from the other offices. The weekend ended with breakfast and big plans for the 90th anniversary! Click here for pictures of the event.
2013 - The eraser is the most valuable part of the pencil – work until it’s right, not until it’s “good enough.” - On May 16, 2013, the staff members of Williams & Company PC had their annual team building event. This year’s event benefitted the Boys Club of Siouxland and the school districts where our offices are located. Staff was broken into five teams, completed several tasks to "win" school supplies for their teams, and filled as many backpacks as they could with the supplies they had won. Although there was a time limit to complete the tasks, the goal was to work together to solve each of the tasks, and again there was one with no talking! Each task was ranked from easy to hard, and the amount of school supplies the teams were awarded was given according to the difficulty level of the task. At the end of the day, the backpacks were filled and delivered to school districts and children in need including the Boys Club of Siouxland. Click here for pictures of the event. 2012 – Travel the Yellow Brick Road. Find your courage, share your talents and your heart and together we’ll tackle the Wicked Witch and the flying Monkeys! - The staff members of Williams & Company PC had their annual team building event, again with a slight twist. This team building event included the Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc. Following some Wizard of Oz trivia, the staff members broke into six teams and completed several tasks to "win" food for their teams. Each team then created a food sculpture to convey their team's selected message. Each sculpture was judged on height, visual appearance, sturdiness, and the message delivered. Although there was a time limit for completing the tasks, the point of this exercise was to work together to solve each of these tasks, some of them harder than others (one of them included NO TALKING!), and to build a cooperative sculpture. At the end of the day, we shared our talents and donated all of the food items to the Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc., a total of 994 pounds! Click here for pictures of the event. 2011 – Never Fly Solo – Be a Wingman. - The staff members of Williams & Company PC and their families were treated to a day at Arnold's Park, complete with a ride on the Queen II, a picnic style lunch, and passes to the Amusement Park.
2010 – Charting our course for the future and helping everyone find their treasure. - The staff members of Williams & Company PC once again held a team building event, this time with a twist. Not only were the staff involved, but some local children also participated. The event was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Sioux City with the task of building a bike. Sounds easy, right? Not when the bike parts are scattered throughout the room, padlocked to other pieces of other bikes. The point of the exercise was not to be the first one done but to learn how to work together as a team to accomplish the selected goal. In this case, making a bike for a special child from the community. The children from Big Brothers Big Sisters were excited to have found their treasure! 2009– Celebrating 80 Years Excellence - meeting and exceeding our client needs, building an excellent reputation and being an excellent place to work. - The staff members of Williams & Company PC celebrated the Firm's 80th Anniversary at Lake Okoboji. The staff enjoyed a trip on the lake aboard the Fish Shack - a large barge that can be rented by groups to cruise the lake. After the cruise, the staff enjoyed a landside dinner at the Okoboji Boat Works. Click here for some pictures of the celebration. Click here for some pictures of the celebration.
2008 – Jungle Safari – Looking for Excellence. - The staff members of Williams & Company PC were put to the task of finding clues strewn throughout the Sioux City downtown area. The catch? All team members had to be within the sight of each other at all times, so there wasn't an option for "splitting up". Click here to see pictures of the various teams and clue locations.
